Question Can the 3 amigos be sent away?

I would like to part with my buddies, (alias the 3 Amigos) but the "ABS MODULATOR FIX (NO more SVS fault)" link is corrupted so I can't get to the article. Is it written somewhere else that I can read it? Would really appreciate some help here!!! (not very computer literate!) Thanks

There is a multiple write ups from years ago. Option B is a common fix. I used Option B back in 2011 and sent the Amigos away. System still performs and the 3 Amigos will return. When they do you know something is generally wrong other than a possible 1590 code (Rough Road). Search should provide the write up? If not, I think I have the write up in .pdf.

It's not a write-up, but I was reminding myself how to do this a few weeks ago and came across this video that I thought was a good summary:

Thanks for the video. It helps to see that but it doesn't actually describe what is being done and why. I guess I'm too old school - I like to see things written down with diagrams! lol
Windycity_rover, I would really appreciate the PDF article if you could find it. Thanks, Jim

I used that same video. Pretty easy straight forward job that didn't require any brake lines to be removed. Fixed my problem and saved a bunch of money.

Fair. I had the old write up, not sure what happened to it. I would say if you do the fix, the crip connections work so much better than trying to soder those wires. I soddered the unit on my old truck and it was a pain, but the crimps were quick and easy. I think 30 minutes in total.
I'll poke around on my old laptop and see if I can find it. From what I recall the switch you cut out doesn't ground properly, and by performing the fix you create a better ground that isn't faulty. But I'm sure someone else could explain better than I.

Have you checked the fault codes, do you know you have the modulator switch fault?

The write up of the Option B shuttle valve switch electrical fix can be found here https://web.archive.org/web/20170730...m/abs-mod.html
I also attached a pdf if that goes down.

Excellent resource! This procedure solved my intermittent “3 Amigos” problem on my D2.
