Default Can anyone identify the box?

Hello,

I have a black box under my dash which has a cable not connected to it. I know it is something to do with the Alarm (or is the Alarm ECU). But I cannot find this particular part online, nor can I find any model numbers on the actual box (or in it, I removed the screws). On one side the cable is not connected, if I connect it all the lights flash and the engine becomes immobilized. My remote keyfob works fine for lock/unlock, so i'm not sure what is going on. It has three other cables going into the other side. The only markings on the box say JT3KD1786-R. I attach pictures. I want to know if this is a standard stock part, can I replace it for another one that works properly? can I reset it?

Any help appreciated!

First photo shows the box
Second shows the cable that is not connected

It looks to me like you're working on the drivers side (based on the brake pedal in the picture). I would have to guess this is an aftermarker alarm. Your key fob is working off the stock keyless entry system which I believe is in the dash behind the glove box. I'm pretty sure you're dealing with an aftermarket unit here.

Any idea how I might identify the manufacturer? that might allow me to get a manual and perform a reset / purchase the correct fob. The only code I can find is the one I posted previously.

If the name of the company is not on the alarm it's probably a cheap off brand. You might be better of to just buy a whole new unit.

Thanks 97DISCOIDAHO.

Any idea is that wiring is standard? i.e. getting another unit would be plug and play.

Thanks

Graham

I highly doubt it. It will probably need to be rewired. Good news is... you can find the wires pretty easy now that you have a harness already installed to show you the way.
