Hey fellows,

I'm fitting new tires to my Africa-side Disco 2 and trying to find skinny, tall tires. It has 16" rims on a 2" lift. I've been looking at these tires:
235/85/R16's, and they look perfect. But before I plop $1,400 to have them imported over there with no possibility of returning them, I want to be sure. They should fit, right?

 

That is a 31.7" tire, which should fit fine. My D2 has a 2" OME lift and 265/75R16s, which are slightly wider. I experienced no rubbing.

 

Will they "work" on 8" wheels? Aren't DII wheels 8" and these tires require wheels 7 inches wide at most?

 

99-02 Disco had 16x7s, 03-04 had 16x8s.

Thanks for the help everyone! Going to confirm the rims are 16x7’s with my mechanics over there before ordering these.

 

What about having the same 235/85/r16 without 2” as on stock ? Is it going to work ?

 

235/85R16's can be mounted on 16x8's but you don't have as good of rim protection as you would with a 16x7 inch rim.
