Can I fix my stock bumper cover?
One of the principal reasons for acquiring my 2000 Disco is it’s competence in handling the deep snows that we’ve been experiencing for the past few weeks. The bad news is that I still have to occasionally enter a parking lot, where all that competence meant nothing to a young woman who couldn’t find her brake pedal in time to avoid creating a couple of big cracks in my front bumper cover.
I’d like to keep the truck stock, if possible, but prices for a replacement bumper cover strike me as a little silly, and those for most of the aftermarket bumpers that I’ve seen seem even sillier. Last night it struck me that I might be able to repair the bumper instead of replacing it; maybe a little glass tape on the back side and some rattle-can cosmetics to the front.
I haven’t had the cover off yet, so I don’t know what the damage looks like at this point, but thought I’d ask if anybody else has tried this kind of solution, and if there’s any magic that might be passed on.
Thanks for any helpful advice or observations.

Absolutely. Fiberglass mat and resin on the underside, and some body filler sanded over and painted will get it looking brand new. Here's a link to a DIY oil pressure gauge pod I made. The process for your bumper will be identical. Click here: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...uge-pod-44059/
There are also plenty of urethane bumper specific products on the market. Fiberglass won't bond to the bumper very well, although it may work if you never bump the thing again. The proper products include cleaners to prep he surface for bonding.
Try a body shop supply store. They will have everything you need.

Why don't you have the "young women" that hit the bumper pay for the replacement? Just curious. If she was hot, I totally understand you not asking for her insurance info. Hopefully you did get her number
Gene's Salvage Yard on US-31 just south of Chum's Corner, east side of the road just past Talk of the City.
He typically has a few Disco's laying out back, you can then have the bumper cover painted to match your truck and install it yourself.
