Default Can I put the front wheels on without the rotors?

i want to drop the front end down so I can work on the rear suspension. I don't like being lifted on both ends. The northwest is wet, and it might be 2+ weeks before I start up the car so I don't want brand new rotors to be rusted.

I tried puting ting the wheels and 3 nut she on, but the wheel is still really loose.

Put the rotors on... rust will be gone the first time you touch the brakes...

x1

The simple answer is no, you need the rotors on.

Why don't you just put the old rotors on temporarily, no retaining screw or caliper needed just tie the caliper clear of the wheel when you remount the wheels. Put a small block of wood in the caliper space just in case you forget and hit the brakes.

Never leave the rotors off.
You will not have brakes to stop with.

Like mentioned, put old ones on without caliper(like mentioned, hang caliper to not stress brake line). Three lugs are enough if stationery. Emergency brake will lock both driveshafts.

Okay, chalk it up to a dumb idea when a RockAuto core return deadline is looming. Have to get those rear calipers off stat...

Got it, I'll throw the old ones on for now. Oh wait, I dumped those. New ones it is

X1 ....... if it's going nowhere the handbrake can stop the truck.

Jeff, if you're concerned about the new rotors, which will soon get messed up anyways, just put some washers on 3 lug screws as a temporary but ensure they are equal thickness on each and then fit the wheel on with 3 lug nuts. But don't forget the only stopping power you have is the handbrake so keep the speed and distances to an absolute minimum.

And if you do this do not touch the brake pedal.
