You won't know about your freon level till you can geta guage on it, and yes, you may have 2 issues.

OK, so I've decided to take this to a shop and have it done right and let them evacuate the system, check, lube and fill. Any suggestions for decent shops??? Is the LR (shudder) dealer a good place to go for this work?

DO NOT go to the dealer, they will bend you over and rape you.
Just call around to any shop that does A/C service, Midas, Tuffy, Joes Crab Shack and Auto Repair...just look in the Yellow Pages or Google it.

Does anyone know what the pressure should be at before putting more R134a in?
