The Rover was followed to the location by the oil trail left in the wake....

This sort of fun needs after-adventure fluids changes "stem to stern".

Mine leaks about that much and I've drove it for 5 years with no problems. Just keep a check your fluids and top off as needed. Mine is the valve cover gaskets and Im not sure what else because of all the mess from them. I do tighten them with every oil change and it has seemed to help a lot. Wouldn't hurt to check yours. They are notorious for loosening up and leaking. Very easy to get at with a 10mm socket on an extension. Only 2 on each outer valve cover.

OK - Pictures of transfer case end, is this the dreaded OEM prop shaft?

Looks to be, though did you rotate the shaft to take photos, the grease fittings could be on the other side.

it appears to be, you can rebuild it or replace it.
I replaced mine and kept the old one as a spare Dynamic Driveline 501-945-9090

Yes, I rotated them and there is no grease nipple on the u-joints near the transfer box, there is on the front of the prop shaft. That confirms the u-joints are the OEM?

Either OEM or awful replacement. Either rebuild or buy a new one STAT!

Quick question, when the u-joint is seriously worn like this, I take it there are symptoms while driving? Is there play in the shaft when its not in motion?

What does STAT stand for, anyway?
