Default Cant get my motor to attach to the tranny

Just put another motor in and Im having trouble getting the motor to fully attach to the tranny. Its sitting about a half inch from being flush with the tranny. Is there something im missing, thought I could put the bolts in and work it on but seems the bolts are getting really tight. Thanks for any help.

are you sure the converter is locked in place??? Usually in this case the converter is not seated all the way. I know many a professional machanic that has had this problem or they will get it together and strip out the input saft when they put it in gear.

Did you leave the torque converter on while trying to put in?
If so take it off, then take the torque converter and look inside the input shaft of your tranny with a flashlight, you will notice a notch like a keyway then line that up with your torque converter, push torque converter in and make sure it seats all the way back. Then drop motor in carefully not to knock torque converter out of seat again.
Once your in lined up and done you can bolt up torque converter through access holes in oil
pan covered with rubber plugs lining up 4 holes by hand cranking motor over for all 4 bolts. Or if the oil pan is off it will be obvious.
Good luck but should be straight forward as long as torque converter is seated properly.
