Car not starting and Alarm going crazy
Hi guys.
I need your help.
Recently, I noticed that my Land Rover Disco 2003, would not start the first time I turn the key. All the lights would go on and it would make a farting sound (excuse the expression) and then I would feel air coming down by the gas pedal, then the second time, it would start normally.
I automatically got into the habit of pushing the gas pedal when I start in fear that it might not start and I might need a jump or something.
I didn't use it for two days and it was cold and raining here in LA, when I went to start it the third day, it wouldn't start at all. I tried again the following day, nothing, all the lights go on on the dashboard and it sounds like it wants to start but doesn't take, it just clicks. I am suspecting the battery. I have ordered jumper cables online and am still waiting for them. I tried again the following day, and the alarm went crazy. It's a factory fitted alarm.
Do you think the alarm issue is part of the battery being flat? Or an isolated problem; assuming, of course, that my problem is a flat battery. If not, any ideas on what the problem could be? Advice?
Thank you.

yes I think the bad battery and alarm are related
I think you stick your key in the driver door and manually lock/unlock a few times and it resets it....of course you need to get your battery and charging system up to snuff first

Thanks guys, I bought jumper cables at Walgreens, I never thought they, of all places would sell them and got the car starter.
That took care of the alarm situation as well as Dusty1 mentioned.
I then drove to Autozone and bought one of those gold batteries. I'm all set now, whew!
