I'm pretty happy with the Boss unit I bought which includes Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I would not buy from Amazon though. If you buy through Crutchfield you get lifetime support. Here's my install link. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...53/#post805960

I'm going to "second" the Crutchfield suggestion, even if money is tight you can buy inexpensive stuff from them and the support is excellent. When I first got my Disco the radio was totally shot so I scooped up a cheap unit for $30 from Crutchfield, later on I upgraded to a $50 unit because I'm a big spender...

Ever looked into Android stereos? I've had pretty good luck with them so far in my Subaru's. I recently got one of these to put in the Rover when it warms up a bit...https://www.joyingauto.com/new-desig...-1280-800.html

The easiest way to bring the Alpine (non-navigation) up-to-date is to add Grom Audio for bluetooth.
I had the Grom aux adapter but recently went to the Boss Audio BE7ACP since I was on a budget and wanted apple carplay and front/rear camera.
