Default Car wont start, Cant "Jump" either (help)

Hubie the newbie here.

My Disco II's wiper blades stopped working awhile back (https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...d-swipe-45988/)

Then my car died and had to be jumped at the most inconvenient time (https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...new-one-48367/)

I had to go out of town for a week. Then I ordered a battery online from advanced auto parts, which includes a free install.

I called AAA to jump me, so I could go to the store and have it replaced. Guess what. Car wouldnt jump.

Horn blasted over and over. Blinkers went out. Dashboard flashed. Car would not start.

What's going on here? Should I just go to the auto parts store, buy the battery, then (pay) to have someone remove the old one and install it?

Hubie

PS - dont recommend I install it myself, it aint happening

Default I had a similar problem

I just had a similar problem with the battery acting dead and couldn't be jumped, but I didn't have flashing light. My problem ended up being a ground wire was not connected. As was recommended to me, check your ground wires, there are a few of them. Good luck

Sounds like something is up with your alarm. Did you unlock/lock/unlock the doors? Is your transmission in park? There's a bunch of old posts regarding people's alarms/kill switches. Also, you can install the battery yourself. I think its a 13mm socket to loosen the connections. Takes less than 30 seconds. Then call a lead scrapper on Craigslist to come take the old one away for you. On a side note, I removed my battery bracket and replaced it with a nylon strap. Is there any reason the battery needs to be firmly bolted to the tray, or is LR just trying to be a pain in the neck?

Put the key in the drivers door and lock it then hold it on unlock for a few seconds. That should fix the horn.

I'd sell it and buy something else if you can't install a battery.
