Default A "MUST" Read For Anyone Doing Either a Head Gasket or Valve Train Repair

I had this link sent to me by DiscoBob from the LRO, this morning and it is a must read for anyone looking to open up their engine for a head gasket job, valve train noise repair and all sort of other facts.
Take the time to read this, http://www.v8engines.com/engine-4.htm#pre-load

There is no coolant drain on the radiator. There are two block drains, and you loosen a hose clamp. Attached from RAVE, a recommended free download

File Type: pdf
d2 coolant drain.pdf (1.33 MB, 1388 views)

Thumbs up DRAINS, TRAINS and LAND ROVERS

No doubt. Additionally, there's probably mention of the bracket that attached the SAI bracket is attached to behind the intake runners...I have just been unable to open the RAVE, I can get the Overhaul open...A friend, far more computer savy than myself, printed the OVERHAUL 4.0/4.6 at work for me...she couldn't get RAVE to open either...And yes, we both understand it's a pdf and requires Adope...(intentional...)
My solution was to pull an apparently...unused sending unit...an presto-painto...what little collant was in there, ain't in there anymore...

So when My 97 Disco I starts up I hear the bubbly water sound near the heater core. Is this usually a dead ringer for a head gasket problem? I really don't have time to spend a whole day tearing this thing apart and putting back together right now. But I don't want a 400 dollars shell of a Disco either...

That is an indicator of a coolant leak, now you just need to find out from where.

It means you have air in the system. You want to establish how the air was introduced into the cooling system. Did you recently do any work on it?
I would start by thoroughly bleeding the cooling system. If the gurgling continues to return then you need to look further into how/why/where the air is being introduced.

Take the time to read this, RPi Engineering - V8 Engines

I posted this like 3 months ago when people tried to debate with me about engine noises.
