If so, how far out does the tire carrier with a tire stick out from the rear door?
how far does the tire hang out over the bumper itself?
i've looked at both the RTE and the Casey Custom and like both. but RTE is 9 months out or so on production. i like that the Casey Custom bumper has a fuel can mount. however, that makes the tire look like it really hangs way out there past the back end.
I have a rear tire swing out fab'd by a local shop. The swing out is "linked" to the rear door so that they swing out at the same time.
Another idea is to get an aftermarket bumper (e.g., TerraFirma, Atlantic British, etc).... get it shipped to you and then have a local shop build a swing-away attachment.
I used a Smittybilt iRack system to hold the spare gas can and propane tank. The iRack is strapped to the rear spare tire.
Note: I advise not to mount the iRack and spare fuel simply onto the factory spare tire mount, i.e., currently attached to the rear door. I discovered from past experience there was simply too much weight on the rear door hinges and standard spare tire mounting bracket.
