Default Catalytic Converteron 2001 disco

2001 Disco 119k- Minutes After just dropping a $2300.00( more like tuition, but not an investment..thanks Jafir) for a head gasket replacement( NorCal prices ), I drive away from the shop to a lit engine light. No power above 55, shudders going uphil, sounds like it's missing. Diagnosis: catalytic converter is shot. Going to replace with a used one, parts and labor quoted 400 bucks?

what's the lifespan on the CC and any idea what mine worth to a scrapyard

For $100 more you could get a Magnaflow Y pipe and have all new cats. I installed mine over 2 years ago and have no issues using Bosch O2 sensors. Plus Maganaflow come with a lifetime warranty I believe.
