Default CDL on 2000 Disco

How much does it cost to have the CDL engaged on a 2000 disco?
And what steps need to be taken to have it done?

Depends on how you hook it up. There are 3 ways to do it, make a small handle and crawl under the truck every time you want to engage it, buy a D1 shift linkage for around $150 in parts, 04 linkage for around $400 plus or a solenoid at $450 plus, al of which will require labor, at least $300 or $400 worth for sure.
Many people will install the D1 linkage themselves, it will take you many hours if you are mechanical.

I think Dweb has a write up in their tech section for installing the solenoid. Seems pretty cool, if I was going to do it. Then you get push button lock. But, at a difference of $300, you might just want the linkage.

Hi,

I Done it with a D2 factory linkage on a 2001 Disco 2. I documented as much as possible on my website. It doesnt take long to do, finding the parts (especially factory bits) is the longest bit.

Take a look, if i can help with any questions...then fire away

That is fine technical write up for adding an 04 lionkage to an eariler D2 to engage their CDL.
Thanks for all the effort.
