It's also know as the hi/lo cover. It's held in place by 6 bolts. The arm coming out of it on the DII is at 90 degrees. This leaves a gap between the linkage TO the hi lo arm. On the DI's the arm is canted making up for the gap. Thus, no need to bend (and possibly break the rod on the linkage to the hi/lo arm coming out of the cover. It makes for an easier and cleaner installation.

Ok so the large bracket that holds rhe shifter and bolts to the top of the case? that is coming with the the shifter and rods.

For an 04 cdl shift assembly, try car-parts.com. I found one from a junk yard in TX for $118 shipped. I didn't get the lever that goes from the nipple to the cable. I ended up getting one from Ashcroft. It was around $40 shipped.

Yep makes sense now. Thanks for the info. Got the whole set up including the hi/low selecter housing with the bent arm.

would it hurt to run with cdl lock all the time ?
