I've been reading a ton but still have a few questions I'm unsure about. So I originally planned on buying the cable driven kit for my 2000 Discovery 2 but just yesterday came across a Discovery 1 cdl at my local pick n pull. They were only asking 30 bucks so figured what the hell.

Donor Car is a Manual. I removed everything except the housing the shifter assembly bolts into. I just removed the 4 bolts on top of the housing and removed the assembly with linkage. Wasn't until I got home that I realized I need it. My car is a Automatic so even if I go back I don't think I can use the housing left behind.

My questions:

The part of the linkage that goes down to rotate the transfer case nut I have from the manual, in the diagram it has small differences but overall looks pretty damn similar. Will this work in the automatic?

Is the housing that bolts to the top of the tranny giving you the location to insert the cdl linkage lever the same for both manual and automatic? If not was is the name of this piece to see about purchasing one?
