CEL after Mass airflow sensor and O2 sensor replacement
So I was getting codes even after replacing these items. Never any that made sense. It was very random. I finally did the hard reset. Disconnected the battery, vice gripped the cable ends together and left overnight. Reconnected everything the next day and fired it up. A little stumble at first but then it smoothed out. Several days later with normal driving and zero codes. I had to change displays back to miles and Fahrenheit but so far (knock on wood) all is well. It makes sense to me that if it was not running right before the computer may have been trying to compensate and now it’s back to zero.
just a thought for those chasing the same gremlins I was.

Hmmm....Never heard of the hard reset. What's the vise grip part? You vise grip the negative and positive battery cables together overnight? Does this discharge any residual energy in the system? I have a P0161 and P0160 I am trying to get a handle on.
Connecting the two battery cable ends together will form a complete circuit for the whole vehicle, thereby dissipating any charge left over from capacitors. etc.
exactly what he said!
