Thanks again all for the help on this. I decided to just start over with new intake plenum and the upgraded seal. This is definitely what it should have come with. Copied you Tony also on the vent

 

mine did the same thing until I played with it and got the tabs on the back of the cowl to go underneath the windshield as I recall. Its a bit frustrating bu take it easy and you'll get it to seat properly. And don't forget to clean out the drain holes at the fenders. We had 12 inches of rain in 4 days last week and not a leak!!
