I didn't say it wouldn't affect power. I said it wouldn't increase it. And it didn't. You just put it into a less useful RPM range. This is engine building/tuning 101, not rocket science.
I am under the opinion that Land Rover wanted to get the most power out of these engines while being used in the manner in which they were designed.
If a freer flowing exhaust would increase power across the board then LR would have done so.
What car company does not want the most from each of their engines?
The most power while achieving the best MPG and longevity?
Thats why you must use premium gas, the engine will get the most power/mpg/life.
They built it, they tested it, they know what they are doing.
But as already stated, you guys can do whatever you want to your trucks, set it on fire and roll it down a hill if you are so inclined.
Personally, I like my truck so quiet I can listen to CarTalk without having to blast the stereo.

well agreed, I do regret doing this, thought it would be a good idear as there is a couple of after market Co. that sells exsaust kits.Prob going to put it back, or replace the hole exsaust with 2" pipe, then I will get my low end back and get the V8 sound.
Bye the way smart asses there is a thing called trial and error, thinking out of the box will eventaly pan out. Also car manufactures have many restrictons as to sound and polution and so fourth.I could of been an *** and told every one that its the best cheap mod that could be done, so I didnt feel stupid and many people would of done this and been like what the hell, but I didnt, so how about a little less sarcasm, I have owned many cars and trucks in the past and have done these mods to all of them with great results, but Land Rover and the owners for the most part seem to be different, So just ease up.

What you found isn't Rover specific. This is basic EFI motor knowledge. Again, nothing wrong with doing what you like, but YOU are the one who came out of the gate being an *** after the very first suggestion that this wasn't a good idea. And, as you've found, that was 100% accurate information that you discarded while demonstrating that you don't even understand basic terminology used to describe intake and exhaust hydraulics as a complete system.
You don't get to play the "moral high ground" card after being the instigator.
