Default Magnaflow center muffler

I have been looking at replacing my center muffler with a magnaflow, I know it has been done before but I have been reading up and have found 2 different magnaflows used... 12256 and 11226. The 11226 is cheaper by $12 but it is 4x9" and 14" body length. The 12256 is 5x8" and 18" body length.

Both are 2.5" inlet and outlet diameter.

Which one should I purchase?

The shorter muffler will be louder. At the end of the day it depends on personal preference. I personally would go with the longer one judging by the Borla Pro XS on my truck. It's a 19" body and made plenty of noise when I still had the stock setup with Magnaflow cats.

I run the 11226 on 3 of my LR's it is not loud at all like a Flowmaster. I have all my resonators removed as well. Under WOT yes it's very much a V8. At idle, or at normal cruising speed/RPM's it sounds very nice.

Larger Magnaflow with resonator delete. That's what I got, no drone. Like best4x4 said, it comes alive under pedal.

One advantage of the smaller one is it makes access to the ebrake assembly much easier to deal with.
