While we are on the subject, what size tires are you running and how much lift do you have? Any rubbing issues? I have a 2" lift with 31" tires and have some rubbing on the back. I am considering adding flares and doing some mild trimming.. Thoughts?

I am curious as to why you don't want to install a locker on your Disco??
Yes the new Detroit, as of 4 years ago, was redesigned and is referred to as a silent Detroit now, and for 98% of the time they are just that. The TT is built pretty much out of the same housing as the Detroit so it is bullet prof strong and is a gear lock up, I really like it.
As for my truck which is a 99 D2, I have a 3" lift and am running 265's on her with no rubbing, even when fully stuffed in the rear wheel well they don't rub. You might consider throwing a set of one inch spacers under your coil to give you that little extra difference.

Well, found a LT-230 off an 97 D1 with linkage for just under $500. Another few weeks and I should have a CLD.

Thats great, make sure you change the fluid when you install it and then post your old t/case and recover some of your cost.
You'll really like the new CDL and the traction you get.
