I would change your spark plug wires before jumping to the head gasket etc.

Seen many people save money buying cheap 7mm or off brand wires.

Put good 8mm on there.

Also for the borescope... Amazon has borescopes that hook up to your cell phone, record, has a light, audio, super small, really cool and the price is under $20.

If it were spark plug wires wouldn't I experience a miss throughout the rpm band and not just at idle?

Bad fuel injectors or loose O-rings will render codes associated with bad injectors. Try fuel additives that says that cleans injectors for the mean time.

Check your coil packs, too. By changing plugs and wires you may have exposed a problem there. Also, what brand of new plugs did you use and did you check all of the gaps before installing? I have found that 'pre-gapped' plugs usually need small corrections out of the box.

I used these plugs Bosch 9652 Double Iridium gapped go .037.

I have not done wires yet.

Just pored some in tank injector cleaner for now but plan to do the canister direct into fuel rail process.

We bought rebuilt injectors off of ebay and they fixed up the truck really nice.

My wife also reminded me, about 4 years ago we changed the CPS and put a new one in...that was faulty ran like crap right from the first start. Swapped it out with a junkyard one just to test and it fixed it right up as well. I think that same CPS is still in the truck. $5.

Really interesting about the cps. What symptoms did you experience with the "faulty" unit? Crappy idle or all around running crappy.

I used a new "spectra premium" sensor from Amazon. Maybe I should try swapping it out with a BOSCH unit?
