Default Changing rocker shaft and push rods

Hello all, I have been chasing down a weird miss fire and Im hoping I have finally found it. Firstly, thought it was something easy like plugs or wires so I changed all of them to a reputable brand and unfortunately, It didn't fix my problem. After doing some research, I ordered a relocation kit for my coils (thanks Extinct!) and two brand new coils which I was hoping fixed it, but it didn't. After more research, I changed all lifters, found cam to have some rounded lobes, so changed cam, replaced injectors, and all the seals from the valley up and thought I finally fixed it. Well, it has unfortunately come back. The only thing I didn't change when I was in there was the rocker shafts and the push rods because I thought everything looked okay. I will be changing driver side rocker shaft assembly tomorrow and push rods and was looking for some advice.

The original misfire was cylinder 5 and 7. After changing all of that, it runs a lot better but I will get the code randomly.

I am novice mechanic but have had some very helpful people tackle this job with me, the thing is, I want to do this part myself. When I put the rocker shaft in, is there anything I should know ahead of time? Same as the push rods?

Any advice will be very helpful

Thanks in advance

The rocker has a back and front it needs to go in the right way, I always soaked rockers in heavy-weight oil before installing just get oil everywhere foe initial start.

But I have to ask did you replace the lifters?

Hey, yes I did. I put all lifters in a vacuum chamber with some heavy oil and sucked all the air out of them before installation.

My mechanic always asks me if I have done a compression test. Have you done one? It gives us a good baseline for the health of the motor, and can help pinpoint problems such as burned exhaust valves, or valves that are not seating well, or worn piston rings. Might be good to perform before and after the rocker work.

Did you note which cam lobes were rounded?

I have compression tested. I don’t remember exact numbers but all were similar. The rounded lobes seemed to be the exhaust side on the drivers side, which is the side that I am changing the assembly and rods on.
