Default charging issue

ok fellas,
battery kept going down on the boy
so i figured with the cold weather battery must be weak
changed it out and everything was fine for a couple of days
today it drained again, we already put a new alt. in when he bought the
car. only have 12.2 to the battery with the car running which tells mw
alt. isn't putting out, but before i the alt. back, is there a fuse i should look for,
also the bat. warning light is not coming on.
hmmmm

Your alternator is shot. Don't buy a rebuilt has a high failure rate, might want to check out the new Bosch alternators at British Parts of Utah.

My 96 RR (different alternator) had the same issue. The battery would be good for a few days then it would be drained one morning. It turned out to be the voltage regulator on the alternator. It would supply just enough power for the car to run fine, but would not recharge the battery. In some cases I shut it down after it ran fine, but came back out to it and it was totally dead.

I've personally done this repair a couple times, and it works perfectly... Especially where you have a rebuilt alt that the bearings are likely good in.
There are also many other videos that show how it's done. Just search YouTube.

Take it back. High failure rate, but maybe 2nd time will be good for you. It is under warranty.
