Default check engine light after Sea Foam

Hey guys,

I just Sea Foam-ed my '03 Disco (TONS OF SMOKE!); but now my check engine light is on. Should I be worried? or will it go off once the sea foam is totally out of the system??

thanks.

Did you stall the engine while putting in the SeaFoam? If it is put in too quickly, in less the 2 or 3 minutes, youe idle will drop or the engine may stall causing the ligh to come on. It will probably go off in a couple of start cycles.
I wouldn't worry about the SeaFoam damaging your engine.
Give it a couple of days.

It did stall.

Thanks Mike. That's what I thought. I'll let you know if it resets itself.

Thanks Again.

It's an additive/cleaner that you can add to your fuel or suck directly into your intakle through the vacuum lines. supposed to clean carbon deposits. never used it on my car, but mix it with my gas/oil on my duck boat engine as a fuel stabilizer and cleaner.

Disco Mike,

Check engine light quit showing up yesterday. My '03 Disco purr's like a big blue British kitty.

And for everyone else who has never done it. It works fantastic (and price about $4-ish), but there is a TON of smoke. I did it behind the house on a windy day so it wasn't that bad. But I think if it would have been a still day I might have killed the canary.

Glad to hear it cleared it self, never any doubt, just can't poor the stuff in too quick, it will stall the engine and throw a code.
Did you put a can in the gas tank, if not do that still and it will continue to clean up the system.

Where in the engine are the vacuum lines, I added the seafoam to my gas and oil but wanted to clean my carboretor as well. And, if anyone is out there who knows, how do you propery clean the MAF sensors?

Thanks

Paul
