you were charged $175 for an induction cleaning and throttle body cleaning. that is one can of seafoam and a can of carb cleaner. $14 and about 30 mins of your time. you don't even need any tools. just a rag and a piece of hose....

Hilltoppersx, i notice you're in Westchester NY...so am I (tarrytown). I'm not a car savvy person. That $175 service was provided by Mt Kisco Landrover.....

Im hoping Disco Mike can help me here, but can you recommend someone in the area that might be able to steer me right, based on what Mike has to say? thanks

I have not had a plug brand give me issues, have used champion coppers, autolite platinums and bosch platinums now NGK iridiums all run the same. The P1319 code I would assume means he is having some sort of fuel issue causing the misfire on 1. Could be wrong though but seeing as he did a complete tuneup with new coils I would not go back to that.

so i checked out his truck today and it has a tick on the cylinder 1. it's also showing some weakness upon acceleration. they replaced the plugs and wires and he still had the same error. slowly losing coolant. engine was clean no visible leaks of coolant. so My suggestion was to pull the plug and see what it looks like. i think its either a head gasket leak (they have not been done he is just over 100k), a fuel problem not sure what fuel type or octane he is using or it is like the dealer said something in the piston, spring/lifter etc....

Big thanks to Hilltoppersx who checked out the vehicle today and Disco Mike who spent some time on the phone with me. I've been using premium gasoline ...exxon bp or getty....an no water is leaking from the tailpipe. the check engine light only turns back on when i push the vehicle and it hits 4000 rpm's. also the compression was 120-125. the codes are cyl 1 mis fire.

Even in the beginning, I was going to say valve or valve spring. If you are leaking coolant, it may be a good time to pull the heads anyway and replace the gaskets. Have ALL of your valves and springs checked. Buddy had the same problem. Shop replaced everything on the ignition side, along with injectors, even swapped new gaskets. I pulled the heads and foung a bent exh valve in #1 and #6. Only got a CEL when he pushed it hard.

You can try putting some 8MM plug wires on it before you pull the heads, but it probably won't solve it. Make sure and put them on while you have the heads out.

im begining to lean more towards a valve spring as there is no excess water out the tailpipe.... its tough. good looking truck and he is the original owner. think he is going to post it in the classifieds on the forum. someone will be happy new owner if they are not afraid to do the gaskets and tackle the tick.
