Question Check engine light and rough idle, and two codes

I drove my Disco from Charlotte to Atlanta and back last week. On the ride home which is about 4.5 hours each way running 80mph the whole time, the check engine light came on. It drove fine, but today after it has sat a day or two, it wont stay idling on cold start up. If it does stay running, it very low RPM and rough idle.

Two codes are P1510 and P1551
Rave Manual give me definitions for each
P1510 IACV opening coil malfunction Short circuit to battery supply - opening winding
P1551 IACV closing coil malfunction Open circuit - closing winding

Can I fix or just get a new part?? Thanks

Your idle air control valve is either dirty/clogged or bad.

Yes, remove it and clean with carb cleaner and a toothbrush.
Clean the opening it goes in also.
Then clear the code and see if it comes back.

It might clean up but I believe it is shot.
They are expensive so if you want to save a few bucks, call Paul Grant, his number is in my signature section, he should have a good guaranteed used one for you.

I just had those 2 codes pop up as well, turns out the IACV had just come unplugged in the back. Give it a good look, I couldn't tell just by looking at it. Otherwise what discomike said and try to clean it best you can. When i did that it looked like it was paonted black on the inside, too much buildup.

First thing I saw was loose plug in back.. and everything runs fine again.. I do have old tires that causes a shake at high speed which may have loosened that plug.. Fixed.. for now
