Checking the tranny fluid!?
So I recently flushed out my tranny fluid and have had trouble reading my dipstick ever since. I put the required amount back in and from what I believe im checking the fluid within all the required rules.
1) level ground
2) check when is engine is cold
3) move shifter from park through all the gears and back to park
When I check the dipstick it reads just below the bottom mark!? From what i can tell i dont have a tranny leak so this leads me to ask where in the heck is it going? Anyone else have trouble with the tranny dipstick? I would love to know how everyone else gos about checking there fluid.

You need to remember that the fluid sticks to the sides of the dip stick tube and that you have to wait for it to all drain down into the sump before you can get a accurate reading.
So...if it is at the "ADD" mark then add one pint, if it is just at the bottom of the dipstick then add one pint, then add half pints until full.
This whole process may take several days.
Once you get it to the "ADD" mark you can drive it.
Now get this, once you drive it and it actually shifts through all the gears the fluid level will drop again.
