Chicago Parking Warning

Chicago Parking Warning
I don't want to go off on a rant here but thought I'd post this because there are plenty of Discos my neighborhood in Chicago (Lincoln Park/Lakeview) so maybe some of you are my neighbors, and if I can save one of you $60 it will be worth the time.
Apparently ....
1. there is an obscure parking ordinance in Chicago that prohibits parking a vehcle over 6' high within 20' of a crosswalk.
2. some ****** in the CPD has figured out that Discos are 6'4" high.
.... which cost me a $60 ticket today.
What makes this even less funny is the fact that:
1. I live at a t-intersection with two crosswalks. (one of them leads to my front door)
2. I am usually parked beside one of these crosswalks. (this happened near one of them)
3. I have been parking this truck in this location for FOUR YEARS.
Needless to say I plan to protest on these very grounds. Not that it will do me any good.
Just be warned .... the city doesn't miss a chance to take your money.

I have to reply to that last one - no way in hell am I doing anything of the sort!!
Moving out - definitely an option. Lowering kit - another option? No way would I park the TR on the street as folks here park by "feel".
Just trying to help my neighbors but glad to provide entertainment as well!

Get this, my brother's Ford Econoline was ticketed while parking in a side street in Chicago, The ticket claimed that no commercial vehicle should park in a side street. Hello, there aren't any signs or regulations, the CP officer just wrote-in the violation. Complete and utterly non-sense.
