Hi Mike we spoke this morning about the 60,000 mile service. I should have mentioned the chirping. I just ran my car at idle for 15 mintues with the heat on. I do not hear the chirping. We spoke about my driveshaft earlier when i told you i hear a click at times when i go forward and or turn. With this new chirping do you think i should get the greasable ujoints to prevent a failure of the train. it is very faint chirp, if that helpsJim

I just ran the car for 15 minutes with the heat on and did not hear the noise. Either the hampter, gerbal, mouse , is taking the day off and it is not the blower or do you guys think it cold be the driveshaft talking to me

You said that when you 'turn off the heat' that you can still hear the chirping. Are you turning off the climate control fan or just changing it from heat to a/c? If the noise stops when you turn off the blower fan, then it is the fan. The noise can be intermittent though, mine will go for days without chriping then it suddenly goes into 'chirp mode' for days. If you still hear a chirp after you shut down the climate control, then obviously it is not your blower motor......

I had a similar issue and it only made the noise with the heat on, when the A/C was on it didn't make the noise. It was the bearings and carbon dust build up in the blower motor. I took mine out, took it apart, cleaned out the dust, added some household oil and no more birds in the dash. Alternative is to turn up the radio.

It could also be the interior temp sensor. They have a little fan that will chirp when the bearing starts to go. I have this problem presently. The sensor will continue to run even when the air control unit is turned off.
