Check and see if the 2 u-joints in the double cardon that hook the ront drive shaft to the t/case have grease fittings, if not, jump on them ASAP.

How do I know if they are "grease able"? I have a 03 DII.... do some have them and others no?

There greasable if they have a nipple on em. If you don't have greasable ones you needto replace them anyway, so start there and don't wait another minute.

You'll see holes in the cross "Valley" or the zerk cap. Be careful, your next joyride could turn into a $6000 nightmare. You'll need three new u-joints and a centering kit.

Go to Advanced Auto if you have one nearby to pick them up. Do you have AAA, or roadside assistance? Throw your Disco on a flatbed..... It will be the best $50 you ever spent.

If you don't have grease fittings on the u-joints, call around and find soemone that will rebuild the shaft including the centering ball kit, apx. $200

MAN!!!! am I glad you guys helped me out. I just drove to mesquite drive shafts outside Dallas and my driveshaft was about to fall out!!!! And I got back from Houston yesterday (250 miles)!!!! I'm sitting here in the shop writing this on my iPhone... I CAN NOT imagine what I would have done if I broke down going 85 AM... THANK YOU ALL.. I'll keep you posted. I can't believe rover puts these cappy joints on these trucks
