Well, once again I drop everything to head my daughters way and when I'm about 10 minutes away, it starts.

She said all she did was move the steering wheel around.

The ignition doesn't go thru the Rotary coupler in the steering column, does it?

I don't "think" so! Happened once again after eating, so truck was sitting for at least 30 min. It's only 82 degrees outside. She said temp gauge wasn't over 1/2. I have prepped her to pay attention to the temp.

I guess she needs to stop eating and stay within 10 minutes of me!

Are there specifically any grounds to check. I checked the big 3, can't find anything loose.

I have seen this happen with bad connections at the ignition switch. You may want to check out the connectors and the wires on the switch. If there's high resistance, they will start to burn.

I wouldn't replace the crank sensor, it has nothing to do with your problem. All it does is send an input to the computer. If it was bad, it wouldn't run, but it would certainly turn over.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the ignition switch as well! Thanks for a confirmation in that direction

I love that everyone keeps saying this..... but whatever. Ignition switch, is possible. That reaches the end of my experience though. Our ignition switches are all electronic (monumental pain when they fail)
Good luck OP.

Possibly the ignition switch or it's circuit or the 12V low amp starter exciter wire spade connection to the starter solenoid.
