Took mine off today while the glove box was out and OMG... leaves and filth for days. I removed the leaves and cleaned up all the veins. I can't believe how much more forceful and SILENT the fan is now. Feels like a new car. It's super easy to do btw. Pop out the glovebox and then remove the three torx screws holding it in. Drops out without issue.
That filter does keep out some of the debris but if you have a cracked windshield cowl (like the majority of us do) it'll let everything in... including mice. lol
Yep. The prior owner had a pretty jenky shop install a new windshield and they didn't fit the cowling correctly. I took it all off and reinstalled the right way, so shouldn't be an ongoing problem.
I didn't have to remove the glovebox to get to it, just FYI, I just had to remove the three screws on the bottom and it falls right out. Maybe I'm just missing a bunch of pieces of trim??? hahahaha.

Lol... I had a rattly fan blower so I never went past 2nd speed on it. Saw this post and you said how easy it was do I gave it a try. Leaves, dirt, and a couple dead mice! Very long dead. Fan is strong, quiet, and mouse free. Thanks for the tips!
