Default Clean out your interior fan!

Took mine off today while the glove box was out and OMG... leaves and filth for days. I removed the leaves and cleaned up all the veins. I can't believe how much more forceful and SILENT the fan is now. Feels like a new car. It's super easy to do btw. Pop out the glovebox and then remove the three torx screws holding it in. Drops out without issue.

Yeah... it's about that time for me to clean out my fan too. I do it once a year.

how is the filter below the windscreen? that's supposed to stop most of that stuff getting into the fan.

That filter does keep out some of the debris but if you have a cracked windshield cowl (like the majority of us do) it'll let everything in... including mice. lol

Yep. The prior owner had a pretty jenky shop install a new windshield and they didn't fit the cowling correctly. I took it all off and reinstalled the right way, so shouldn't be an ongoing problem.

Just the glove box? Or has the cardboard be taken off too?

Well... if your disco still has the cardboard, then yes, that too.

I didn't have to remove the glovebox to get to it, just FYI, I just had to remove the three screws on the bottom and it falls right out. Maybe I'm just missing a bunch of pieces of trim??? hahahaha.

But yea, what a difference it makes!!

Lol... I had a rattly fan blower so I never went past 2nd speed on it. Saw this post and you said how easy it was do I gave it a try. Leaves, dirt, and a couple dead mice! Very long dead. Fan is strong, quiet, and mouse free. Thanks for the tips!
