I have a 2003 Disco with only 54K miles but everytime I turn the AC or heat fan all the way up to the max. The fan makes a really loud noise and vibrates the whole car. The mechanic says it's something I can do myself but he wouldn't explain it to me. He says it's something about the fan being out of balance? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

you can take out the fan with a eight mm socket, but there is stuff in the fan, you dont need a new one just clean it out. if its chewed on by a mouse then you need a new one.
