Default Single fan vs Dual fan

Is there a reason why some of the Disco II's have the single fan on the outside of the radiator instead of the dual fan I see on some models and online?

It seems to make more sense to have the dual fan (unless it is a drag on the electrical)...

Did anyone swap these out or are they even swappable?

Just curious.....

All D2's have a single electric fan in front of the radiator, none had 2 like the D1's.

Do you mean 2 electric fans like on a front wheel drive car?

I think I posted the question wrong...

Seeing that (2) fams are better than 1 (you would think) - has anyone gone and swapped the single fan for the dual on their LR? It might be a moot point - but just curious.

Thanks!
