Default Cleaning maf

I have a 96 SE 121,656 and I believe everthing is original on it the maf is a lucas.I have looked in it and it seem as it is cleaned how would I know if it is dirty?How do I clean?I also have lucas wires are the original seem like they are pretty good what do you guys think.

I know for sure that cleaning the MAF on a DII pretty much certainly kills it. I think it's the same for DI's.

Actually, if it were needed, you cal clean the old Lucas MAF's, if needed not just for general maintance. When cleaning them use only MAF specific cleaner found at auto parts stores.
Don't just clean them to be doing it, you still stand a chance of doing it wrong and messing it up.
