Default Cleaning MAF

Any advice for cleaning my MAF? I bought MAF cleaner from NAPA, but have heard that cleaning it can be sketchy and potentially harmful to the MAF itself. I would rather not just go by the instructions on the back of the can if anyone has any tips.

Thanks in advance!

If it says made for MAFs it is OK. You want to do this when the engine is cold, AND you have not turned the key in the ignition, which powers up the sensors, and warms up a tiny part inside the sensor. Cold spray on hot electronic components is not good.
