Default Cleaning Wheel Speed Sensor(s)

As the title suggests, I would like to test the waters and see if anyone can offer some information on cleaning/checking the wheel speed sensors. My Rover offers me the three amigos (ABS/ETC/HDC) lights quite randomly and in varying conditions. Brake squeal has not presented itself when the lights came on. I believe a quick check and cleaning (if that is possible) may reduce the appearance of the amigos. Thanks for any replies!

Cheers,

Pete

That usually does the trick, but I have never messed with mine (DI), but I think that you can just spray brake cleaner on them and then check to see if they are seated properly. Check your connections too.

Don't mess with something that will possibly cause you to buy additinal parts.
If you brake hard, do you feel the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal, if so, your your control unit is fine. Do your brakes squeak? This is the most common cause for the lights coming on.

The ABS functions correctly under heavy braking. The warning lights do not return after restarting the engine. The brakes squeal from time to time, although it is on an irregular interval and very faint. New brakes are on my maintenance list. Based on the given advice I will leave the sensors alone.

Cheers,

Pete
