Default Clicking with Diff lock

I have an '01 disco 2 with the CDL linkage put in as well as a 2 inch OME lift. I have noticed that when I have the center diff lock engaged on the trails there is a clicking/clunking sound if I am turning sharply. I have a front drive shaft with greaseable u-joints that are greased regularly and have inspected to see if I can find anything wrong. The transfer case oil was also changed recently. Is this sound normal? Any idea what it could be?

If you are driving on a non-slippery surface that would be a normal sound, but you’re putting a lot of unnecessary strain on your drive train doing that. If it makes that sound when you’re on a slippery surface it could indicate a problem.

The surface would be like gravel or dirt.

I’m not the expert but I think you should probably disengage the CDL when turning very sharply.
