Default Clicking Noise

Hey guys I have a question, I notice after a long drive, an hour or so after i turn the engine off in my Disco I can still hear a clicking noise in the back of the engine, i keep thinking its the security device in it, but i never had a land rover before this thus I don't know what it is. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Plus I notice when I crank up my LR the key will stick in the starting postion, I have been told to use a light coat of wd-40 on the key to keep this from happning, should I do this or should I crank out the 475 dollars for a new ignition starter kit?

And... also I been looking for new sparkplug wires and the Bocsh 4+ plat sparkplugs, but i notice that there are NGK Irdrium sparkplugs, they are a little more but which is more recommended and which aftermarket wire ignition kit set is worth getting? Thanks

FYI

97 Land Rover Disco Series 1
V8i 4.0L
112589 Miles

Oh and P.S. does anyone know of a cd/dvd/gps media device that i can replace the orginal radio that can function with the dash commands?

I also have a '97, with 170,000 on the clock.
As far as the clicking goes, cant hep you, sorry.
Go with the iridium plugs, I used Denso but NGK are good too. These guys recommend Magnacor wires, I used Duralast from AutoZone and 20k later they are still working good. I paid $80 for the wires but I think that next time I will go with the Magnacor as they are only like $20 more and probaly alot better.
I replaced my stereo with a Kenwood deck and stuck my TomTom to the glass.

The ticking is just the engine cooling down. The exhaust will tick for a bit, especially after a long drive. Might check your cats and make sure they aren't plugged and glowing. With 112K, it is possible.

DO not use WD-40. Get some of the graphite lube and shoot it in there. WD will mess things up.

I would only recommend the 8MM Magnacor wires with Bosch +4 or Fusion plugs. for a good deal on the wires, go to www.lrrforums.com and go to the store. Any other aftermarket wires are junk. I bought the Bosch from autozone not knowing any better 2 years ago, and each time, they barely lasted a year. Replaced them under warranty, but they were still only 7MM. 8MM will deliver the best spark, and for only a few bucks more, they are the best. Lifetime warranty to boot!

Cheers

Thanks guys, that clicking noise scared the crap out of me when i first started to hear it. I was on roverparts.com looking for the magnacor wires but couldnt find them, i went to the main site and they said 120 dollars.

Also is it me or does the right side of the series one discos seem to be a lot heavier than the left side of the disco
