codes 1313, 1314
Can anybody tell me what is the most common problem with these codes on a 98 disco series 1? Catalytic converter, O2 sensors, etc. Don't want to replace everything. And why won't check engine light reset when I unplug battery? It stays off for maybe a day or two after I reset it with the diagnostic machine, but never fails to illuminate itself once again.
Need some info on your truck, year, mileage, tune up history and what octane gas doe you use?

1998 discovery 1, 109k, 87 octane. I alreadyreplaced the driver side catalytic converter because it was bad hoping that would fixthe problem. But the light still comes on. Also, I have an idle issue. I got it to idle better by unplugging the idle control valve, but I need it to work when it's plugged in, andthe problem is not the valve, because I've replaced that three times. Thanks
87 octane will kill a Rover, carbons up the engine, and can cause valve damage.
You might want to send me your tele number and let walk thru what is going o,
