Codes?
Hi All,
I'm new to the Land Rover and to this forum. I just bought a 1997 Discovery SE7. Love It! Has super high miles (200,000) but runs great with the exception of a "check engine" light coming on so I went out and bought a code reader. It reads: P0300, P0304. I know those two are "misfires detected". What should I do about fixing those? The other two are: P1313 and P1314, which I believe is a "damaged catalyst". What is that? This car came without a manual. Does anyone have one for a 1997?
Thanks for your help on this.
Matt

RE: Codes?
Sounds like you have a few problems.
For the 2 mis fire codes I would suggest a good engine flush and induction cleaning along with a goos set of Magnacor 8mm. plug wires and BoshPlatium Plus 4 plugs.
For the cat codes, time to buy some new cats. I would also suggest that if the originial O2 sensors are still being used, replace all 4 of them.
Big list but most likely a good fix.
Shout if you want more info or places to buy the parts cheap.

RE: Codes?
Matt,
The Catalytic convertors are integral with what is called a Y-Pipe on your vehicle. I have this in stock for $532.00
The O2 sensors are $182.65 each. You have four of them. 2 upstream, and 2 downstream of the Cat on each branch of the Y-pipe.
Let me know if you need more information than is available on my website.
