Default Codes Sticky Request

I'm trying to help someone else out with a code on his Disco II. I did a search and it looks like people one by one ask for a specific code lookup and get an answer and help but have to ask for lookup or go somewhere else to lookup one by one. Then the next guy same thing, etc..

Can we have a Sticky with all the codes listed for Disco I and Disco II so anyone can just do a scan and look for themselves. May take some time to get a list together but better to do it one time and not many different times one code or series at a time.

And since it is not quickly available it may be a reason to link here from other places.

Thanks

My only concern with posting a basic list of code faults is that now you have information and don't know what to do with it, how to interpret what is needed, what is a false code and not go throwing parts at their truck and then find out they missed the actual problem.

Yeah just because you get a code doesn't mean you go replacing that part. many things can set off codes that require a fix unrelated to the part mentioned in the code.

Good point. But people look different places for codes and get them anyway with no advice.

With a Code Sticky you could place specific carefully worded warnings about that so all who get codes get that message. So overall more people will get the warnings to heed and not less people. And get better guidance than just searching.

Also could put specific advice as needed under some codes to help point in the right direction.

well maybe we could start a sticky with codes and a disclaimer. but i always go here

http://www.equus.com/support/obd2_definitions.php

for their definition just because its easy to look it up on my iphone if im not near a pc. but i like to ask the forum for the interpretation.

Plus if someone searched the forum for whatever code(s) they have, you may find it has been addressed and resolved.
