Coil Pack Relocation Kit
Hey gang,
Fun Fun times.
P0306 Cylinder 6 misfire. Brand new Spark Plugs from last summer.
Popped the hood. Removed Cylinder 6 spark plug and swapped it with Cylinder 4s to see if the misfire moves. Basic troubleshooting. Got em swapped, went to put the sparkplug boot on the spark plugs, gave cylinder 6 wire a tug to ensure it’s secure and lo and behold she ripped quite. Age unknown for the wires.
So I ordered the coil pack relocation kit from TarHeels on Ebay.
After I remove the stock coil pack bracket from between the Upper Intake Manifold does the bracket need to go back as a spacer even if it’s not holding the coil packs anymore?
Does anyone know the ignition wire clip part number that the relocation kit does not come with?
If anyone knows anything about these parts or any troubleshooting when it comes to the removal and installation of the coil pack, it would be helpful.
Fingers crossed it’s just an ignition wire and not a coolant messy cylinder… which it may be… who knows.

Here are some useful pics and instructions from the post that started it all.... LR03NJ (the original creator) has a couple of installation videos under the signatures of his posts.

No, the bracket doesn't need to go back as a spacer. If you can get your hands in there and disconnect the coil harnesses, you can just abandon the old coils in place.

You can only abandon the old coils back there if you buy a new coil bracket. If you're like me and only bought loose bosch coils, you'll need to fish it all out of there.
Do note that the coilpack and coils do fit to come out in one piece, no need to take the intake manifold off.

Just move the cables and pipes etc a bit around, nothing needs to be taken off.
It's a bit fiddly, but definately doable in a few minutes.

man those leafs man come on lol
HAH!
Haven't got around those yet. Had that truck for less than a month and there are a "few" more important things to handle to get it in driving condition and pass the MOT.
And the scuttle panel is in in many pieces....
