OK guys here comes my write up on the install.. I followed Gerry's directions to the letter and it worked flawlessly.. Thank You Gerry for the work and time you put into this project to help all those in the land rover community. This modification is going to help me tremendously as I drive across the country and live out of the Rogerrover. he only major thing I did differently is that I removed the coil pack from the rear of the engine completely. it wasn't easy. and I have big hands... I basically got the pipes to come out of the back. pulled them out the passenger side. then unplugged all wire from the coilpack. including the two coil pack harnesses. I then removed the coil pack screws from the base of each pack and pulled them out the passenger side separately until I had all three pieces out and a nice new large working area in the back of the engine bay.

after that I took my time and removed all plugs as well. I took engine cleaner on a rag and some hemostats and cleaned out each plug hole and the surrounding areas to remove any and all evidence of oils to be able to tell if a leak starts and I will know how to fix it in the future... I then did my old hot rod trick of drawing a vertical line on the plugs from tip to base telling me exactly where the spark is and when I insert the plugs I do my best to tighten them down enough to point the gap at TDC for maximum spark. which I believe was almost straight up. that was my guess. almost all plugs made it there a couple got to 11oclock as well.. then I ran the wires and carefully placed the ends in the coil packs first and set them to where i heard two distinct clicks telling me they were perfectly in each hole.. I put the numbered wire identifier clips Gerry recommended from eBay. On each wire then routed them back to each of their respective spark plugs in the order on the diagram.. then put everything back together. cleaning and cleaning and cleaning along the way and replacing any wire looms as needed also. and general cleanup under the engine hood. after that was done I replaced both o2 sensors up front. I had to fix bank2 on the passenger side the contacts were all corroded and wires funky. so I clipped em... cleaned em and soldered them and got em plugged back in. the car started right up... exhaust didn't smell like eggs anymore. and I ran it for about fifty miles and no more light... and no more codes.... I feel like a giddy school girl...

Just an observation, but I don't think those plug leads are going to be long enough for anyone who has an ACE system. That adds an extra pump to the right of the A/C pump which would have to be navigated.

YOur probably Right. That's a good point for Gerry to let Magnecor know of a longer set with the ace pump so when ordering the wires they can send you the right set. as on my set the wires had some extra length the snuggest wire was on plug number 2. 4 6 and 8 had extra length to them but had to route them inside the Sai tubes. whereas on the 1 3 5 7 side I ran them on the outside of the tubes. good eye. I had wondered if I could put in an extra alternator in the spot where the ace system goes?

This is a great innovative idea. Very cool to see. Also, Roger your engine bay is cleaner than my interior...

Thanks Roger. I hope it works well for you. 2x, thats a very clean looking engine.
About the ACE pump location, looking at the picture, I am assuming that it wont change the length of the plug wires since the wires are above the head cover and right behind the metal plate engine hookup. The pump is located just infront of that hook up plate and the wires will still go behind it. But, this is just from the picture and I dont have an ACE system. Cheers!

Oh about the alternator, there is a 150 amp I bought from ebay and it works great.

I cant keep up with all the awesome mods being done to the discovery's. and have to keep my OCD in check. LR03NJ is a genius in his own rights, and the new kid Jeff Blake is doing some off the wall stuff as well. I hope I can get some status as good as theirs someday... and the engine bay I had open for a week as I move at a snails pace with my MS so I had plenty of time to detail while doing this project.

Gerry,

Ive been following this thread with interest from time to time,....completely missed the announcement that they were ready to sell,......also haven't been able to find a price upon re-reading. Price is a factor for me,....and then time to do it,.....thinking that the intake will need to be removed to do this,......is that correct?
