Coil Pack Replacement Questions
Instead of a magnetic socket an old mechanic trick is to "shim" the inside of the socket with a layer or two of masking tape. That makes the socket just enough smaller to hold the bolt in the socket until the engages the threads of the hole.
I had forgotten that the truck has 4 bolts from the factory. I remember thinking that lower studs would be a good idea the last time I did a set of coil packs.
You do need to tighten all four bolts though. People seem to have reported problems if the coils aren't solidly grounded. Make sure that the braided strap(s) from the back of the engine is/are attached to the firewall as well.

I will look for the straps, thanks.
Hell, the studs are there, take advantage. Get some M6 nuts and use the studs, I certainly wouldn't remove them. Nyloc nuts are a good idea to prevent loosening, I'd be slightly wary about the temp rating though. It may get gutenhot back there. Wave or lock washers would solve that issue.
