Default Update

Well, I purchase and installed the Standard brand coil pack, and my Disco is running like a dream. Less than $70.00 including shipping, and I've noticed an increase in performance since even before I started getting these problems. Oddly enough, the Three Amigos haven't returned either since I've completed the work.

Would you post a link to where you purchased them please?

I ordered the pack through JC Whitney. There were other sites that had it, but I'd never dealt with them before so chose Whitney based on the fact that they've been around a long while.

The part number or the coil pack is SIUF545. A google search for that part number will return multiple results for all the sites selling it.

Rave manual instructions for removing upper intake manifold (UIM) say to undo all the coil pack bolts before removing UIM. On reassembly the UIM is torqued down before putting the coil pack back in place.
My question is why remove the UIM in the first place? Can the coil pack be removed after the UIM is removed and then replace the coil pack before bolting down the UIM?
Why loosen the coil pack before the UIM comes off? Is the coil pack bracket holding down the UIM?

If I recall correctly, I removed the UIM prior to removing any bolts for the coil pack, or coil pack bracket. I don't have my Rave manual handy at the moment, I'll try to look at it again tonight to see if I might be forgetting a step. My guess is that at best, there's two bolts that may be attached to the UIM that will need to be removed first, but again, I don't recall that being the case.
