You're not going to get a softer ride than stock springs. Shocks will have a bigger effect on ride quality than springs will though.

If you are staying at stock ride height, ditch the Old Man Emu shocks and get some Bilstein 4600's or some KYB replacements from RockAuto or Amazon. I personally have the KYB and they ride great.

Interested to see everyone’s opinions and experiences in this thread.

I’m nearing time to replace shocks and springs on my 130k mile ‘03. Want to keep factory ride height but get the best ride quality possible.

@Mullins.cody I bet some of your ride quality issues are related to the BFG’s. Great all around tire but not known to be the most comfortable.

Yea the KO2s depending on sidewall rating can be freaking brutal. The set on my green d2 is awful and I've swapped suspension components around between vehicles and nothing changes too much in terms of ride quality.

I believe I am dealing with this also, my KO2 235/85's are E rated. I've been toying with buying OME springs and shocks and ditching the Terrafirma/ARB stuff, but maybe I just need a different tire? lol

I replaced my springs and shocks this year wanting to keep the stock height. I went with the Britpart D2 springs and Bilstein HD shocks. Seems to work pretty well. BTW, I have Falken Wildepeak A/T3W 265-60-18 tires.

Did you notice a ride height increase when you replaced the shocks and springs? My truck sits more than an inch lower than the factory stated ride height (measure from the ground to the wheel arch) and it’s on a taller tire as well.

Also, do you think the Bilsteins are worth the $’s over lower cost factory replacements?

Yes, the factory springs sag so the replacement springs bring it back to stock height or there abouts. I've always liked the Bilsteins but I suppose that you could use replacement shocks. As I recall, Monroe made the OEM shocks and mine lasted 155k miles.
