Condensor Fan on my 2003
Temperatures in Texas have been up and down over the past week and I'm afraid my fan isn't working. During the summer, it was always running since I had the AC on, but not so much anymore. I asked about this last year and someone replied that the fan should always be on with the AC and then another guy stated that ambient temps must reach a certain temp before the condensor fan will come on even with the AC activated. It was around 70 degrees today but I wasn't getting any action. The prop is not frozen or locked up and Im sure all of the fuses are good. So does ambient temps need to be even warmer or should I try to power the fan and test it? Can someone tell me how I can splice in a switch so that I can bypass the ECU and activate whenever I want to? Info on fan parameters is really what I need answers to. I cant check RAVE through my phone.

I've heard people say that theirs comes on with AC, but mine never has. It has only come on once, and that's when I hit 212 on a particularly hot day with some air in my system.
Wiring it up to a switch should be easy. You'll want to wire it to ground to chassis then run power through a relay wired directly to the battery. I'd use 12 gauge or larger wire to be safe and definitely use a 40 amp relay. You can order relays with harnesses on amazon for relatively cheap and wiring diagrams are found easily on google images.

Haha, I don't now, but when I did. I had it for a couple years and it worked before I poked a hole in the condenser so I removed the whole system. I'll look it up when I get home, but that's how mine worked back when.

When cooling fan operation is required,
the ATC ECU outputs a cooling fan request to the ECM, which then energises the cooling fan relay. The cooling fan
request is output if vehicle speed is 80 km/h or less while the external air temperature is 28 °C (82 °F) or more. The
request is cancelled, and the cooling fan switched off, if either the vehicle speed increases to 100 km/h, or the external
air temperature decreases to 25 °C (77 °F).

Yea, yeah I don't run at 210 if I can help it so I'm not concerned with that ...I need the 210 to be 200 instead, know what I mean? I want to splice in a switch so I can override the programmed parameters but I want to make sure it's not a faulty fan. I think if it were faulty the prop would be seized, right?
